PARKER CANADIAN TOUR - JANUARY 2011

Hello everyone! For those of you that dont know me, my name is Byron Whitlaw --owner of AreaOne Events, an event management company based out of the Kootenay mountains of BC. I have recently been appointed as the new Canadian Representative for Finger Lickin' Management; based out of the UK; to assist with the proper tour logistics and implementation. Over the past few weeks I've been negotiating with Finger Lickin' Management to host some specific artists I think need to perform in Canada. My goal is to create fair, successful tours for the Artists, Promoters, and Agents. Maximizing dates, and minimizing travel. I have selected you as a promoter contact for your town, as you have shown a strong reputation for hosting artists and ensuring a quality visit to Canada. ************************************************************************************************************************************************** Finger Lickin' Management & AreaOne Events are proud to present: SHAMBHALA MUSIC FESTIVAL LTD 2010 HEADLINER.. PARKER (UK) -- CANADIAN TOUR JANUARY 2011 Goodgroove Records | Jalapeno | Bomb Strikes | Finger Lickin' Management DJ Style: Baltimore, Breaks, Dubstep, Electro, Funk, Hip Hop, Mash Up, Nu Funk, Soul MYSPACE || SOUNDCLOUD || YOUTUBE DOWNLOAD PARKER OFFICIAL PRESS KIT Bio's: Now famed for his worldwide smash Where's my Monkey? Parker is a star producer on the rise! His debut album To Eternity dropped in 2008 to critical acclaim, with its blend of dance floor funk and epic soul winning him fans from DJ Yoda to Massive Attack, and airtime from Radio 1 to Kiss FM. After the success of the album the Bristol legend has been beavering away on his staggeringly hype bootlegs and beats workouts for Goodgroove Records, making anything baring the Parker logo a surefire banger with DJs the world over . Live he cuts up dub step, breaks, hip hop, drum and bass and any other damn thing that has ever been put on vinyl, with the kind of superior turntable technique that puts most other DJ's in the shade. His selector skills take him seamlessly through every genre designed to make you shake a tailfeather, and sometimes at the pace of one a minute...with an accapella or scratch over the top for good measure. These untouchable talents on the decks have seen Parker compared to heavyweight record crate jugglers like the mighty Z-Trip. Next on the list is a killer collaboration with Boca45 as The Beekeepers as well as a second solo album which will see Parker branch out into his new love dubstep as well as dnb and breaks. So whether you catch him live or bump a party with one of his records, he's sure to be firmly on your radar for a long time to come. ------------------- If Knighthoods were given out for contributions to crowd rocking, Parker would be curtsying in front of the Queen come New Year. As it is, plaudits range from Massive Attack to DJ Yoda. Royalty indeed! First starting his rise smashing chumps via DJ battles, Bristol's Parker soon turned his hand to production gaining "lofty comparisons to the marvelous RJD2". The luscious beats and driving Funk of his 'To Eternity' LP garnered rave reviews and wide critical acclaim. Lead single 'Sugar Coated' was MTV-playlisted, while 'Western Soul', featuring San Francisco legend, Rasco, devastated dance floors. Proving he was no flash in the pan, Parker followed the album with a series of club-rocking bangers, finding homes at such heavy hitting labels as Bombstrikes, Goodgroove, and Jalapeno. Not one to rest on his laurels Parker began to dabble in bass-heavy frequencies with "deliciously pleasing results". His Dubstep refix of James Brown's 'It's a Man's World' reached number 1 in the Hype Machine Chart, while 'Where's My Monkey?' made him a household name....well, households that flip to the bass and dig King Kong-sized booties. Parker's Crack House remix of Max Sedgley and Glitch Hop collabo with Finley Quay further showed his versatility and confirmed him as a hit with national taste-makers BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss, 6Music and XFM. A hectic DJ schedule has seen Parker's incredible deck talents rock such festivals as Glastonbury, Shambhala (Canada), Big Chill, and Bestival, as well as various club hot spots across the globe including FabricLive. These burgeoning crowds have been treated to Parker's superior selector skills which fuse a multitude of genres designed to make you shake a tailfeather. Always one for "combining a cheeky sense of humour with a keen ear for a record-defining sample", who knows what styles he'll be running, or inventing next, (Funkstep, anyone?). Parker is, and always will be, your friendly neighborhood beatsmith. Now, where's my knighthood?
